A good cigar is like a good wine, it requires aging in exact ideal conditions to become a really exceptional thing. Different than wines in the tobacco occur different much complicated processes for aging, this is because a good cigar is made up of several different leave types, during aging each leave marry with other and so, they interchange oils and flavors, they marry from the top to the bottom of the cigar. Usually the aging take place inside humidors made out of wood, this could be Cedar o any other, it depends on how much budget the company or the smoker has to spend in a good humidor. The cigars can be aged individually or by many, its best when they are aged by many because the marring takes effect on more leaves than when is done individually.

Here on Tabaquera Lavin and Carranza we understand that the most important part of the manufacturing process is Maturation, we found that in Mexico there is no maturation culture among the manufacturers, they ship they cigars directly to the stores without maturation, when this happens and the fresh cigars are in transit, they usually become instable, this because they have no adequate humidity or temperature conditions for transportation, this makes that the natural tobaccos process of aging get drastically stopped, giving the cigar a flavor of dirt and ground that has no sense at all. In the world they are only a little producers that really age their products, this ones are considered to deliver the best quality in their products all over the world.

The process for aging our products its completely unique, thanks to these, our tobacco has it unique characteristics and its exceptional flavor. When the cigar is ready after the “torcido” and “cortado” our fresh cigar is taken to the “centro de maduracion”, we take in “mazos” of 50 Cigars, this are introduced in individuals Spanish Cedar Boxes with Controlled

Temperature and humidity. Our cigars are aged 5 years minimum, 3 years are aged completely “desnudos” (naked) and the other two years are aged near coffee grains, vanilla leaves among other especial components. When they are ready we pack them inside a crystal tube with a cedar paper, this warrantees its quality maintaining adequate humidity conditions and allows to continue with the aging process wherever the box is at.

Our tobacco is the only in the world were the humidity its controlled since we plant the seed to when you open one of our cigars, this is why we warranty that if you smoke our cigar you are smoking the best cigars in the world.
